We will spend a whole day learning how to use your camera, how to shoot in different lighting situations, and so much more! This workshop will cost $149 due at time of booking. Limited spots available, so book yours today!

What You Get:  One day with Cedar + Moss Studios covering everything you need to know to understand your DSLR better and how to take better photographs in different lighting situations. Those topics include everything from learning about all those buttons to learning about all different types of lighting to hands-on shooting. 

To maintain safety measures and ensure you get excellent value, workshops are limited to 10 participants.

What kind of camera do I need? Bring your current DSLR camera with a lens, extra battery/charger, SD cards (no lower than 32GB) and a pen. We will provide a booklet for taking notes.


What level of photographer do I need to be to attend your workshop?  Beginner. This is for all the moms that would like to learn how to take better pictures at birthday parties/holidays. Also for business owners that need some help with learning their camera basics.

How long are your workshops? One day class - 3 hours.

what you’ll learn

This workshop is the perfect introduction to not only learning how to work all those buttons on your new (or newish) DSLR and how to work with all different types of lighting, but we'll talk about other important topics, such as white balance and exposure. The workshop is 3 hours and provides plenty of opportunities for interaction, question answering, and hands-on learning. Basically, you're going to learn everything you need to know and improve upon your current skill set while having a blast. 

Getting Out of Auto We'll talk about all the fundamentals of photography and get you out of auto mode. The goal is to provide you with a working knowledge of shutter speeds, aperture, ISO And don't worry -- you'll get to test all of these out right there in class with us there to answer any questions.

White Balance overview We'll also talk about white balance. We'll talk about what white balance is to help you understand  white balance better.  

Exposure overview We'll teach you how to understand exposure. You will also learn how to properly exposure your pictures in camera. 

Learning about Light Any photographer will tell you that lighting is one of the most important aspects of a great picture. I'll teach you all about the no-no's of light and the different type of lighting.

White Balance overview We'll also talk about white balance. We'll talk about what temperature means in regards to white balance so you will have a better understanding.
