Meet Nick + Mary
Your wedding was perfect, but what was your favorite part?
I think our favorite part of our wedding was when we actually were able to get married. We have planned our wedding so many times because of COVID-19 that we didn't care about all of the details or anything. We just wanted to be married. There's was a moment at the end of the night, after we changed into more comfortable clothing, we sat at our table and looked at each other and just exhaled because we FINALLY were able to call each other husband and wife.
What are some words of wisdom you have for others preparing for their weddings?
Words of wisdom, let me tell you.... the day you pick wont be a thing if there's a pandemic! LOL. But honestly, don't sweat the little stuff. I did and I almost lost my mind. Be happy, enjoy the moment you have, Do not put your entire life into planning ONE day. Enjoy the experience of being engaged and not being a bride, if that makes sense.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
After being engaged for almost 3 years, 2 postponed, a cancellation, a pandemic and FINALLY having a backyard wedding, we made it the most enjoyable that we could have. Most of our guests could not come due to the restrictions but we planned a wedding parade around our block with a golf cart escort in front. It could have worse with all of the non-sense that was happening in the world but at the end of the day, I was able to marry my best friend and that's all that matters.
what was your first dance song?
From the Ground Up by Dan + Shay
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Since we had our wedding at home, we went to a near by bike path to take pictures. We never put the idea of having people walking/running, riding bikes, or pushing their children in their strollers on the path for some reason. So we did a lot of cheering for the public. As we were sending our vendors home, we decided to do a sparkler send-off. For a woman, who was wearing a massive dress that was stuffed with tulle and a lot of hair spray having a bunch of your drunk friends waving sparklers near you in honest to the funniest and scariest moment of my life.
if you could do it over again, would you change anything?
Nope. I don't think our wedding would have been anymore special if it was at a venue. We got married in our first home front yard with a small reception in the backyard and I can't wait to till our future children our wild roller coaster story of our wedding.
Where did you go on your Honeymoon?
Road trip into Colorado!
