Tell me about your favorite parts of our session, or why you enjoyed the session
We had so much fun playing with the kids and finding creative ways to make them laugh. It was nice taking a more candid approach to the photos so we didn’t have to stress about getting a baby and a toddler to smile for the camera. We were lucky that it was 70 degrees outside in November which made for a great sunset photoshoot!
What are some words of wisdom you have for others preparing for their sessions?
Make sure to plan around your kids’ naps and eating times! We had our kids take their afternoon naps in the car on the way to the session so they were both a little cranky and over tired. To do it again, I’d make sure to put them down for an early nap at home and hope they sleep well so they’d be well rested for pictures. I also think it’s important to go into family photos with young kids with very realistic expectations for their attention spans. You’ll have more fun if you keep an open mind and go with the flow!
your perfect Sunday
Our ideal Sunday would be a walk to a nearby coffee shop and then breakfast at home as a family. In between naps, we love to take a family outing, whether it be going on a walk, out to lunch, or having a picnic. The evening would be carryout and then a movie and popcorn with the kids.
